From Family Roots to Future Visions: Micheletto Pavimentazioni
December 20, 2025
It is a family story that began over 75 years ago in S.Giorgio delle Pertiche, in the province of Padova, thanks to the vision of three brothers, Severino, Sergio e Silvano and has since become a defining name in the Italian concrete block and paver industry. For two generations, the company has combined regional roots with the courage to innovate, while never losing sight of the people behind the products.
As a family-owned company, Micheletto has always placed values such as perseverance, loyalty, and passion for the craft at the center of its identity. These principles have shaped its development and continue to guide decisions today.
Under Stefano Micheletto’s leadership, the company has entered a new phase of technological and strategic growth. In 2019, Micheletto invested in a Hess RH 1500-3 MVA. The decision marked a turning point: older machinery had served faithfully, but new demands required a new approach. Operators and machines needed time to align, and processes had to be rethought. Soon, however, the new line was running at full capacity. Today, the RH 1500-3 MVA, equipped with every available option, has become the centerpiece of production. It allows Micheletto to cover a wide range of requirements, from robust standard paving stones to intricate, architect-driven designs.
For Stefano, the machine is only part of the story. Equally important has been the collaboration with Hess. “From the very beginning, I felt in good hands,” he recalls. “Whenever a challenge arose, I was never left alone. The Hess team always kept the focus on solutions.” That sense of trust became a cornerstone of the partnership and a decisive reason why Micheletto chose to expand further in 2024 with a Hess RH 600-3 VA.
The new plant was not an off-the-shelf solution. Its handling system was tailored to Micheletto’s requirements, ensuring smooth integration into existing workflows. At the heart of the new plant stands the Multimat RH 600-3 VA, a machine built to combine productivity with creative flexibility. Its oilbath vibrators deliver powerful, consistent compaction for long-lasting reliability and uniform quality. Equally important is the ColorMix drawplate. The ColorMix drawplate creates distinctive surface variation. Different colored concretes are placed in three separate layers onto the drawplate. Controlled by pre-set recipe settings, the drawplate opens in timed sequences, pausing and resuming so that the colors intermix and form unique but repeatable, accurate patterns. This process gives the products depth, variation, and individuality, while ensuring reproducible results.

Precise operation of the RH 600-3 VA
The RH 600-3 VA is a medium-capacity stationary concrete block and paver machine designed to produce a wide variety of products such as pavers, slabs, hollow and solid blocks, as well as curbstones and retaining walls. At its core, the machine features a robust steel frame with a solid base and upper structure supported by a four-column guiding system. This design ensures precise hydraulic movement of the mold and tamper head. All guide columns are hard-chromed and mounted in replaceable bushings to ensure long service life and low maintenance requirements.
Flexibility is central to the molding system. The mold is pneumatically clamped for quick changeovers. The tamper head sits on a heavy-duty bridge carrying two synchronized vibrators. Driven by servo motors, they generate highly dynamic, vertical vibration, which is essential for easy demolding. During demolding, a hydraulic brake locks the tamper head, securing exact dimensions.
Operators monitor and fine-tune the production process through the Siemens SCADA system to ensure consistent product quality.

For challenging product shapes, Micheletto uses an integrated tamper head cross cleaner. This device is applied whenever the standard scraper effect is not sufficient enough, for example, with curbstones, coarse surface structures, or products with curved geometries. A scraper arm, driven by an electric geared motor and roller chain, moves crosswise under the raised tamper head and cleans the shoe blades, ensuring that even complex shapes can be produced reliably. By reducing manual cleaning, the cross cleaner helps maintain uptime and consistent quality, especially in demanding production runs.
The vibration table itself is mechanically decoupled from the frame by rubber buffers. This ensures efficient energy transfer from the production board to the concrete inside the mold while minimizing structural stress. Two frequency-controlled double-shaft vibrators enable continuous adjustment of the vibration force, allowing for both powerful compaction and gentle handling of sensitive products.
Concrete feeding is designed for accuracy and reliability. The base mix is supplied via a hopper with level sensors and a hydraulically operated filler box on rollers with a wear-resistant table plate. Also, the face mix feeding unit is equipped with laser sensors for precise level control.
Operation is managed by a Siemens S7 PLC combined with a color touchscreen panel. Parameters can be adjusted in real time, while product-specific programs are stored and recalled for efficient changeovers. Downstream handling is fully automated, moving products smoothly from demolding to stacking and from destacking to empty pallet return. A servo-driven cuber prepares the finished layers for further processing, ensuring efficiency and consistency. Precision stops guarantee exact dimensions, while modern safety systems protect both operators and equipment.

While the RH 600-3 VA marks another technological milestone for the company, Micheletto’s vision extends beyond machinery. Sustainability has become a defining principle. All production runs on renewable energy. Solar power from a large rooftop installation and water-based processes supply the plant, while gas has been phased out entirely. An inhouse research and development department drives innovation in close cooperation with architects and designers. A three-year roadmap defines which new product lines will be developed and introduced, ensuring continuous renewal at high standards.
This dual focus on reliable core production and on ambitious, unconventional projects is a hallmark of Micheletto’s approach. Alongside standard paving stones, the company regularly delivers tailor-made solutions. Its expertise in design enables surfaces with depth and nuance that have impressed both customers and international juries.
Today, Micheletto produces around 700,000 square meters of paving products each year. And yet, despite this growth, its foundation remains unchanged: a family business, deeply rooted in its region, committed to quality, and guided by the belief that machines and people together can turn ideas into reality.
Looking ahead, Stefano Micheletto speaks of the next decade not in abstract terms, but with conviction: “We want to continue building on who we are. With the right machines, we can realize visions that standard equipment cannot reach. With the right people, we can create products that last technically, aesthetically, and in the way they connect with customers.”
